While Hayashi stood as the rarely seen father of the home, Naoko worked just as hard after stepping down from a lucrative office job to raise not one, but two sons in a loving home. This was even more true when in one fell swoop, Hayashi gambled away the entire family livelihood, forcing them to declare bankruptcy and for Naoko to not only kick him out, but divorce him as well. The boys, who had never felt much attachment to their father for his vague appearance in their lives, stayed with her. Naoko, took the hit in stride, never showing weakness and shouldering the burden. The trio moved back to her parents’ house for a bit while she weathered the storm of a messy divorce court, and even more so job hunting after being a housewife for over seven years straight. [break][break] Mitsuo was far too young to really understand, and Arata, bless his heart, understood enough to know to step up to take care of his older brother under the guidance of his grandmother to lessen the burden on Naoko. This surrogate parenthood made Mitsuo grow particularly close with his older brother, and they in turn grew closer with their mother, despite her now hectic work schedules. Mitsuo, under encouragement of his older brother and grandparents, focused in school with the aim to not cause their mother anymore stress. [break][break] 🌊🌊🌊
[break][break] Growing up, Mitsuo did whatever sports his older brother had done to cut down on equipment cost; basically joining his school's kendo club. Under the encouragement of their mother both boys excelled in it. They also both attended aikido classes at a dojo near their home. Even if she was mostly absent now, Naoko would do her best to leave notes for her sons cheering them on in their studies or congratulating them for their successes. If grades dipped, her messages were of concern, never angry simply open to a conversation. Around the end of elementary school, Mitsuo's mother met a wonderful man at a grand gala held by her company. A lovely American man who fell in love with her steadfast determination and swept her off her feet. Mr. Williams charmed practically everyone, even Mitsuo despite his protests. [break][break] Two years later Naoko became Mrs. Williams and had the entire family closer to Tokyo. Something which Mitsuo objected to loudly, and constantly begged his mother to stay with his friends and grandparents in Sapporo. He detested blatantly being the new kid by transferring in the middle of the semester. He also missed the friends he'd left back at home. Even more so, it was hard to adjust to officially have another man as his father, something he resented having been just fine without one for the past decade. As he hit puberty Mitsuo began rebelling against his parents after he was refused to move back to his hometown with his grandparents. There would be no point, they argued, as Tokyo housed a great academic scene housing some of the top universities in the country. Still, no one was safe from his resentment, not even Arata who he had been incredibly close with over the years. [break][break] 🌊🌊🌊 [break][break] Mitsuo then discovered punk rock at random from a classmate and fell into the scene as best he could. He began to drastically change his appearance as the music fueled his teenage rebellion. Mitsuo started bleaching and dying his hair blonde as well as growing it out, despite the constant problems at school for it. He began purchasing expensive and eccentric clothes with his mother's money behind her back. At school his attitude would result in fights with his peers. In short, he became an all-around pain in the ass for his parents and reveled in every minute of it. He fell in with the delinquents once he hit high school. This is where he found a few people in the same boat as him. Vandalism and graffiti became something daily for him. Fighting became hobby he could put old skills to use for. Despite all this, Mitsuo truly toed the line, still finding a weird catharsis in academics that still kept his mind occupied but not exactly fitting the mold of model student. [break][break] For the most part, he blew it at his entrance exams, unlike his older brother who was top of his class and enrolled in a top Tokyo university before moving out. This only really exacerbated the strain on Mitsuo and Arata’s relationship. Mitsuo stayed bitter after years of acting out and continued out of spite. He joined an aikido dojo, took up a part time as a trainer and followed his friends as they tried to fall in with a local gang. Finding a pseudo older brother to replace the one he had sabotaged his relationship with, Mitsuo was inducted into Tsumaru. For better or worse, he spends his days selling drugs to college students on his brother’s campus or practicing his art on the insides of abandoned buildings. And of course, who could forget the fist fighting. [break][break] i dont care if i hurt anyone Mitsuo may seem all piss and vinegar, and he mostly is, but there’s are still parts of him that sine untouched by the bitterness he carries. While not necessarily in school anymore, he can be incredibly hardworking and has an unmatched work ethic. If he’s given a task or sets his mind on something, he’ll do his best to do it right. If it weren’t for a streak of laziness in him, Mitsuo would be a perfectionist. [break][break] He can be a bit closed off, more interested in fighting others than befriending them. Anything to lash out on an unsuspecting stranger. His trust in others are relatively low, though it ebbs and flows with members in his gang who he believes understand him a little bit. Or well, he believes the creed of closeness the Tsumaru carry and does his best to reciprocate. Regardless, the blonde is still guarded when it comes to strangers and generally does his best to rebuff people that talk to him. He likes to come around on his own, though he really does without a bit of prodding. Still, around those he tolerates or trusts he reveals a more cheerful side, that can crack jokes or make smug comments. Tough love is a language he’s intimately familiar with, administering at will. On occasion, he has been known to offer thoughtful insight but for the most part enjoys staying out of people’s business and hopes others do the same. [break][break] Still, he is naturally a bit of an awful person, needling and antagonizing others without seemingly any reason. He regards almost everyone around him with silent contempt. His responses can vary from ignoring someone entirely to snippy, one-word answers. He rarely cares how he’s speaking to someone or who it is when he’s in a terrible mood. Which to everyone around him is seemingly all the time. Considering his antisocial tendencies, its no wonder Mitsuo doesn’t have remotely any romantic experience. He’s got his bare bones down, some kissing ( unfortunately ) and a couple of dates. Though most of his romantic ventures were incredibly awful and for the express purpose of seeking out disapproval from his parents and getting kicked back to Sapporo. It didn’t work though, and now Mitsuo is stuck not only worrying about cute girls in the city, but cute guys as well. Unfortunately for him, his appeal is at it’s highest when he keeps his mouth shut. [break][break] it doesn't pay to be a good kid Mitsuo despite being smaller and skinnier than most, carries himself with the swagger of someone twice his size. His confidence in his abilities is ever present in the way he walks or stands. Its clear as day in the years old callouses on his hands and the multitude of scars that coat them. While still very much an overgrown teenager, he's rather clean cut and maybe even fashionable. His hair is healthy and shiny, and usually pulled together neatly into a side ponytail to hold it in place. He never lets his roots show, meticulously touching up his own hair that he's spent years dying now. Despite his rebellion, Mitsuo lacks any tattoos on his body. Though he does have multiple piercings in his ears. However, this is the only jewelry he wears. He stands at around 5'5" ft tall, and weighs around 148 lbs.
