Personality

Shizuka lives every day with the thought that it very well may be his last and, really, he wouldn't be wrong in that aspect. In his profession, being Hired Muscle for any Yakuza Group, his next job could send him on a one-way trip to the afterlife, so he indulges in life's pleasures however he likes. This includes bar hopping on days off, imbibing on the nicer things in life, and often either bringing home or going home, with someone for a night of fun. Money isn't a problem as he gets paid well for what he does, but that doesn't mean that he actually pays for some of the things he has. [break][break]

His natural aggressive personality makes him well adept at sending 'messages' to rival gangs when he's hired to do so. He doesn't give two shits who he works for so long as money is being put in his hands for his work. When he's at work he's almost unhinged in the way he handles things. Taunting, mean, and sadistic, he works with the chaos of someone without a moral compass, but the moment his job is done he's just an incredibly active and outspoken person. It should be noted that he's as dense as a brick and as blunt as one going through a window. He is a menace that'll either be a great time or a Real Bad Time^TM[break][break]

He'd love to give you the full story of his life, really, he would. Trouble is, he doesn't remember much from when he was taken in by a man named Akiyama Sojiro. He has vague memories of a mother who was never home and an old lady who watched over him, but that was about it. The only person he knew for certain for the longest time was Sojiro, and Sojiro wasn't exactly kind. [break][break]
Of course, he couldn't really call him a monster either. The man raised him as his own. He saw potential in him where (he guesses) his mom only saw annoyance, incapability. He had a temper on him since he was young, and Sojiro managed to direct that temper into something a little more constructive. [break][break]
Long story short, the man taught him how to fight, and fight well. First with his fists, of course. Shizuka knows the taste of blood on his tongue and a body littered with bruises and broken bones more than he figured other kids his age knew, but it only fueled his developing moral compass (for better or for worse). Next, Sojiro showed him how to use a variety of weapons, including firearms, knives, and brass knuckles. Though, for some odd reason, Shizuka preferred the heavy, destructive weight of a quality steel bat in his hands. There was just something so nice about feeling bones breaking under the steel, reverberating through his hands and up his arms. [break][break]
After that, it was just drilling of basics into his skull and developing a presence outside what he could do. Something about plausible deniability or something like that. Shizuka didn't really get it. He learned enough to be considered a high school graduate without ever going to school and then some, and by the time he hit his twenties, Sojiro had decided he was ready to begin his new trade as hired muscle for crime groups. His like since then has been a blur of things. It's a never-ending pattern of murder and carnage and threats that never fail to make him grin and enjoy every moment of it until it's done with. Shizuka is surprised he's lasted this long, but he figures that if he's still managed to escape Death's Maw, he'd enjoy every moment of it. [break][break]
