Welcome to Tokyo, Japan. January, 1991. The world has entered the technology era, portable phones, home computers, internet, video games. Japan quickly became the epicenter of the latest and greatest. Companies and factories flourished. Where money was, people followed. And while many rose to live a comfortable, happy, and delightful life from this new found money... Others did not. You see, money has this effect on people that can't be outdone. People will do anything for it. And when it starts slipping into the wrong hands, it's impossible to stop. Benethe the day time laborers and the double-shift workers, a seedy underbelly of syndicates exists. Narctics, black market, organized crime, money laundering, you name it and it's been growing as fast as the upper world economy. While many do it just to stay alive, there's those who make it their posh lifestyle. Either way, there's only one question. What would you do if the money was good enough?

Sangster Lee
I don't do sadness, so been there. Don't do sadness, just don't care.
[attr="class","section intro"]This little shit here is Lee. He came to Tokyo from the USA at the age of eighteen and has never left the big city since. As he has been here for a long time, he is mostly fluent in Japanese, but also speaks English and Spanish. At the moment, he's trying to make it big with his band, Fatal Ingénue, and they're finally gaining some traction. Maybe you've heard of them?

Friends
[break] Lee is always interested in meeting new people, and social folks tend to find him entertaining and generally friendly. While sticklers for rules are pretty much always out of the question, Lee doesn't really go out of his way to step on people for the sake of stepping on people. He's a troublemaker, not a bully... most of the time. [break][break] He can change his colors at the drop of a pin, his attitude flowing and ebbing with intensity like ocean tides, so as long as your character is adaptable, they probably have a pretty good shot at being friends with Lee. He has a lot of varied interests besides just being an attention starved spotlight hog. Music lovers, space and alien fanatics, bird watchers, come at him. And if you can manage to have a longer standing friendship with Lee, he actually has it in him to be pretty philosophical, too. The guy's been through some shit.[break]
[break] Look, he loves attention, even bad attention. He goes out of his way to annoy people. While he's not usually malicious, he will push your buttons to no end, and that has gotten him in more trouble than anything else. [break][break] That said, strike a match and he's kerosene. Lee is explosively angry with all his unresolved trauma, and if you get on his shitlist you're going to know it. He doesn't like bullies, he doesn't like bigots, and he especially doesn't like to be undervalued. The worst kind of people are the kinds of people who refuse to see him. He can't stand anyone that won't bask in all his self-proclaimed greatness. [break]
[break] Okay, so, Lee's pattern with relationships is pretty toxic. It's not for a lack of trying. He has had terrible examples set and and even worse experiences with romance in his life, plus his preoccupation with abandonment runs so deep he can't stand the idea of being left - so he will ultimately end a relationship with someone prematurely, sometimes leaving without even saying anything. [break][break] Has he been in love? More damn times than he can count. And he hates himself so much for the way he behaves but he doesn't know how to stop. Mostly, he is fine with just sleeping around to pretend like he is staving off the loneliness he feels, but it never works very well and he almost always catches feelings despite himself. [break][break] In any case, he's always single with a big question mark. [break]
[attr="class","section intro"]Meet Kasumi. She wasn't dealt the easiest cards growing up and has turned to crime to avenge the death of her family. She is ambitious, driven, and ruthless... at least, to her enemies. Most everyone else is treated with such a friendly and outgoing demeanor that it's hard to imagine she can get so violent. In any case, this mess of contradictions is ready to mingle.

Friends
[break] She's too dethatched from reality in a lot of ways to maintain a regular relationship with anyone anymore, as her job requires her to be at the beck and call of her masters, but the idea of friends sounds nice to her. Even if she can't fully commit herself emotionally. Still, she probably is fun to have around for most people. Just adventurous enough to party with the extroverts and thoughtful enough to have a philosophical conversation about the meaning of life with the introverts. She'll go out of her way to make you feel nurtured, but never allow anyone to give her the same grace. [break]
[break] Her biggest enemies are her bosses. She is not employed by choice but by necessity and her ultimate goal is to destroy them from the inside, but while she has the conviction, she does not have the tools. She trusts no one inside the family and yet is in servitude to them and hates every moment. Consequently, the law is not her friend either. Long before she turned to crime, her experience with Tokyo PD wasn't... great. [break]
[break] She probably will sleep with you if you even so much as hint towards wanting it. Just get her out of her head a little bit, she says. She does not give a fuck how. As for actual romance, everything is open. [break]
